The true northernmost point of mainland Europe is Cape Nordkinn (Kinnarodden) which lies about 5.7 km further south and about 70 km to the east of Nordkapp. And poor Cape Nordkinn is a desolate and unknown place. Reaching it is difficult: it is a rough, impressively beautiful, extreme place.

There are three places that claim to be Europe's northernmost point: Kinnarodden, Knivskjelodden, and the North Cape, all three in Norway. So, I took a map and Knivskjelodden seemed to be the real northernmost point (71° 11′ 08″ NB). Knivskjelodden can, unlike the North Cape, not be reached by car (nor by bike).

Surprisingly - wrong! Cliffs of North Cape are located at 71°10′21″N 25°47′04″E making it the most northerly point reachable by car, however the true most northerly point of Europe is nearby Knivskjelodden peninsula. It reaches 1.5 km further north than Nordkapp, at 71°11′08°N 25.71°E.
